Biotecnología Ambiental
The Environmental Biotechnology laboratory specializes in basic and applied research in bioremediation. We focus on the use of bacteria and/or their enzymes to eliminate environmental contaminants.
Particularly, we have developed highly efficient bacterial inocula for metal removal, using a low-cost and environmentally friendly process. This technology can be applied in the purification of water as well as to contaminated effluents.
Our commitment is to generate new knowledge and developments in the area of bioremediation to provide advice, services and technologies adapted to the needs of communities, agriculture and industries in our country.
